Terms of Business
We will perform our services with reasonable care, integrity and skill – we are committed to providing you with the best possible solution to your risk protection needs. Any advice we provide is restricted to the provision of insurance and risk protection in the travel and expatriate sector rather than general insurance and risk management. Broader services should be referred to your legal or other professional advisers.
Our recommendations will be based on the information supplied by you with the belief that the information is full and accurate. It is your responsibility to provide all material information and this is reiterated in the applications that you will be required to complete as part of the application and transaction process.
We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that only insurers of adequate financial standing are used however we can make no representation or guarantees in regard to solvency or ability of any insurer to pay any amounts of insurance claims or otherwise. Our relations are with strong and respected insurers and with whom we have had long term relationships. We will advise you of the financial rating of all insurers involved.
We will provide you with Policy schedule/coverage summaries along with policy wording for your insurance.
Information provided by you will be held in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993 (and any amendments). Any information that we collect will be used pursuant to provision of our services. In this respect it will be necessary for us to pass your information on to insurers and other product or services providers which may provide us with additional support in connection with the provision of our services. We have the right under the Privacy Act 1993 to access and/or correct your personal information held by HMIS.
Our remuneration is by commission or brokerage paid by the insurer; or a broker fee; or a combination of both. Our commission is included within the premium charged by the insurer but if a broker fee is charged we will disclose this to you.
Payment of the premium including any associated charges must be made at the time of arranging the insurance. This is common practice for travel insurance but in other cases payment must be made within the credit terms as shown on the invoice or premium notice.
